Fire Prevention Week

The 31st Fire Prevention Week (FPW) will take place from October 3 to 9, 2021 and its theme will be “The first person responsible is you”. Mr. Christian Parent, preventionist at the City of Rimouski and vice-president of communications at the Association des techniciens en prévention incendie du Québec, will act as the national spokesperson.

During this campaign, the Ministère de la Sécurité publique (MSP) and its partners will relay several prevention messages that will emphasize the responsibility of citizens in the face of fire risks in general. Among the new features of the 2021 campaign, five animated videos will be broadcast to provide advice on how to adopt good behaviour in order to prevent fires:

  • The smoke alarm
  • The escape plan
  • Heating with wood
  • Smoking materials
  • Cooking fires
