At the beginning of this new year, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy new year, good health and success in your projects. I would also like to welcome the new residents.
The year 2023 will be marked by important changes for the collection of residual waste in our municipality. In its 2019-2024 action plan for the management of residual waste, the provincial government asked that all municipalities implement an organic waste collection by 2024. Proper management of organic waste contributes to the collective effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The decomposition of organic waste, in landfills, produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. The collection of organic waste in a brown bin, call BRUNO, will serve to produce a compost of good fertilizing quality that will be available to all residents.
